Projects

DATA+ does not only sell the software and provides technical support to its users, but also fulfills a wide range of work with the help of this software. It is often the case that such an approach makes it easier for the customers to introduce and master geoinformation technologies. Among the projects of DATA+: the building of geoinformation infrastructure of enterprises; the working out of scientific-methodological and standard base for the use of digital maps and images; the search for, creation, and quality control over digital cartographic materials, and preparation and processing of remote sensing data of the Earth. In many cases the project work is done in stages. The first stage consists of a preliminary study of the customer's requirements and a pilot project. During the next stage the main body of data is collected, then software purchased, installed and adapted and, finally customer's specialists are trained. The building of a reliable system that is really efficient from the economic point of view is the final goal of the work.

The main projects fulfilled in 1999

  • Geoinformation system for supporting the Project on Registration of Rights for Real Estate of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • Provision of GIS software and system design for the project on privatization of agricultural lands in Azerbaijan.
  • Building of GIS-Center for Almazy Rossii (Sakha) Company.
  • Building of GIS-Center for "Zvartnots" Airport in Armenia.
  • Building of GIS-Center for Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug.

The most important projects of 2000

  • Creation of a corporate GIS for the oil company "LUKOIL".
  • Provision of GIS software and system design for one central and two regional (North-West and Urals) GIS-centers of the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation.
  • Building of GIS-Center for the oil company Samotlorneftegaz ("UKOS").

Pilot Project on Ecological Monitoring of Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Project

The Project on the use of remote sensing data for monitoring oil and gas deposits in Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomius Okrug was done by the Siberian Scientific Analytical Center "SibNATS" and DATA+. Novourengoi deposit was taken as a standard plot for this work. Aero photos were specially taken of this territory and space images of NOAA, MODIS, ASTER, KFA-1000, MK-4, SPOT, RADARSAT, and ERS purchased and processed. Not only data of different sensors were compared but also data of the same type taken in different seasons and even years. In the process of work spectrometer was used for collecting overland experimental data for "training". As a result we managed to interpret and classify oil and gas objects, polluted areas, and landscape elements. Methodological recommendations on the use of data of different types and from different sensors for monitoring oil and gas deposits within the Yamalo-Nenetsky Autonomous Okrug were the final result of the project.

Pilot Project on "Creation of a System for Property Inventory of UKOS-PN Company

In 2001, together with Sibintek Company we fulfilled a project on a system of automated inventory of real estate of the oil company UKOS Permneft.
The main goal of the project was to provide for an integrated inventory of all property of the company within Russia for solving the tasks of monitoring and effective management of the property complex.
The property register of the Company includes information about spatial, juridical, and the value characteristics of land plots, buildings, structures, technological objects, elements of engineering infrastructure as well as data on the owners of the objects, documents for establishing the rights for ownership.
Descriptive characteristics with the formation of geodata base on property objects in ArcGIS are an important specific feature of the system.
This allows creating a system for collecting, interpreting, and upgrading data, which later on could be used in other structural subdivisions of the Company.

The following components of such work can be implemented in the framework of the created system:

  • Inventory and management of the main (primary) objects of real estate - complexes, buildings, structures;
  • Inventory and management of the secondary objects: inbuilt rooms, production and other property items;
  • Creation of general plans of enterprises;
  • Inventory, monitoring, development plans, engineering surveys, construction and repair works;
  • Creation of generalized database on property complex in the form of sets of technical-economic indices, plans of the territory, buildings and floor plans;
  • Creation of review and detailed maps and plans, inventory and movement of the property.

All this work builds the basis for creation of information systems, which will allow the management of the property complex of the company onto a new quality level.

Project on the Cadaster of Property of the Oil Company "UKOS"

For this Company a Spatial Information-Searching System "Property" was created, which is part of a large project of automation of the process of inventory and control of the assets of a large corporation. The "Property" system is intended for:

  • display of the current distribution of assets on the floor plans,
  • search for the needed equipment in accordance with the standard and spatial demands,
  • search for working space and work seats,
  • identification of equipment

The "Property" System consists of several subsystems:
The Subsystem "Designer" serves for creation of semiautomatic spatial data that will be used by the "Property" System.
Subsystem "Administrator" for distributing in an automatic regime of rooms on floor plans and for the formation of symbols for reflecting different assets.
Subsystem "Client" represents by itself a set of different client seats what allow receiving information about the current state of the needed assets.
Client seats consist of ArcView 3.2, an application in MapObjects and an adapted HTML-Viewer ArcIMS 3.1.

Project for a Graphic Analysis of the Place of Oil Companies in the Market of Oil Products

An analysis of the oil market may be done at any level of detail, up to individual regions, comparing the share of supply into the regions from different filling stations.

This map shows well the zones of influence of different companies and the place each of them occupies in the general supply quotas in different subjects of the Russian Federation.

Creation of the Corporate GIS for the Oil Company "LUKOIL"

Serious work was done on the standardization of the digital topographic maps of all scales because the reliability of any thematic information depends on the quality. This work was put at the basis of a single cartographic base in a number of large and medium corporations.

Project for Regional Directorate of Road Service

The condition of the roads and the activities of bodies taking care of them are estimated on the basis of this project implemented together with the Regional Directorate of Road Service.

Project on the Analysis of the Network of Shops of Domestic Equipment

DATA+ together with the Company "Tekhnosila" has undertaken an analysis of the network of domestic equipment in Moscow. It included spatial analysis of population of the city, their purchasing capacity and the zones of influence of the existing shops as well as determination of the most perspective shops of the company for increasing their presence and building new shops in the most promising areas.

Project on the Optimal Distribution of Oil Storage Bases in Tambovskaya Oblast

Optimization of distribution of oil storage facilities in Tambovskaya Oblast allowed making a proposal on their considerable reduction without doing damage to the main consumers - filling stations. With the help of GIS the dispatching service can make more efficient the supply of oil products using minimal number of gasoline tankers.
